Project Description
Nature has become my muse where colors and texture play a major part in my work.
I love what Rembrandt said, “Choose only one master – Nature.”
The French Broad River Connection
Watercolor, 14″ x 18″
Asheville’s French Broad River in the early spring offers me more than just a landscape to paint. It is full of history and many stories back in time.
The Day is not Over
Watercolor, 16″ x 20″ framed
Hiking up to the top of Max Patch as the sunset meets me there is an awesome experience and yet, the day is not over but has many more hours of Nature’s wonder.
Rain shower Clouds
Watercolor, 16″ x 16″ framed
“I shut my eyes in order to see.” Paul Gauguin
I Will Meet You Near The Pond
Watercolor, 12″ x 12″
I painted away. No second guessing, just capturing what I felt that very moment. I love painting the reflections on the water.
“A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art.” Paul Cezzanne
When Leaves Turn Red and Gold
Watercolor, 16″ x 20″, Framed
This scenery brings back wonderful memories of a getaway weekend with my husband. Our cottage was across this beautiful lake at Fancy Gap, Virginia. It also evokes and symbolizes the beauty of life’s changes and transformation.
Land of the Sky
Watercolor, 12″ x 20″
Asheville is called Land of the Sky. The dramatic textures, colors, and shapes of the clouds are always framed by the waves of Blue Ridge Mountains. I feel like I could touch the sky.
Memory of Santa Barbara
Watercolor, 11″ x 14″
“Every line is the actual experience with its own unique story.”
Cy Twombly
I see you beyond the clouds
Watercolor, 9″ x 11″
The ever changing cloud formations and colors are a wonder to me.
The Golden Pond
Watercolor, 16″ x 20″
It was a beautiful sunny day as I watched a family of ducks cruising around this serene pond. Although I forgot to add the ducks, I was glad I chose to paint the reflection of the trees and sky.
Meditation From My Window
Watercolor, 16″ x 20″
Waiting for inspiration and a new vision.
“All you need to paint is a few tools, a little instruction, and a vision in your mind.” Bob Ross
Waterrock Knob, milepost 451
Watercolor, 12″ x 12″
My hubby and I parked by the Waterrock Knob Overlook and voila, I started painting!
